Microsoft’s Dataverse has revolutionized the way businesses and organizations manage, analyze and store data. This powerful cloud-based platform provides users with a comprehensive suite of tools for creating, managing and analyzing data across multiple sources.
Dataverse, previously known as Common Data Service (CDS) provides a unified data model for common data objects such as Accounts (businesses), Contacts (people), Customers (businesses and/or people), Activities (tasks, appointments, calls, email), and even Projects. It includes integration with Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Teams and other Microsoft products. Applications can be built using Canvas Power Apps, Model-Driven Power Apps or Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement apps.
The platform is extensible, enabling new tables, columns, views, dashboards and automations to be created as-needed. Dataverse allows developers to build custom entities and create powerful relationships between them. It also offers a robust set of security features, including role-based access control (RBAC), field-level encryption, row-level security, and data masking.
Because data is stored in common data model, it is more easily consumed by reporting solutions (such as Microsoft Power BI) and artificial intelligence solutions (such as AI Builder).
